The Six-Syllable Mantra is the mantra of Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva, often recited to cultivate compassion, wisdom, and liberation from suffering. Practitioners commonly use a mala (prayer beads) and chant this mantra repeatedly to accumulate merit and purify the mind.

Before reciting the mantra, wash your hands, light incense, and keep a pure mind, focusing on Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva.

    Án ma ni bát mê hồng

    Thần chú Lục Tự Đại Minh: xin cho con phát khởi lòng từ bi và trí tuệ, vượt qua mọi khổ đau.

    The Six-Syllable Mantra: may I give rise to compassion and wisdom, and overcome all suffering.

    Âm 'Án' giúp thanh tịnh thân, miệng, ý, mở đầu cho sự tu tập.

    The syllable 'Oṁ' purifies body, speech, and mind, and marks the beginning of practice.

    'Ma' tượng trưng cho việc diệt trừ sân hận, cứu độ chúng sinh khỏi cõi địa ngục.

    'Ma' symbolizes the elimination of anger, saving beings from the hell realm.
